What it is

Orkin: rankings “are based on treatment data from metro areas where Orkin performed the most bed bug treatments,” residential and commercial. One company’s treatment volume by metro, not a prevalence survey. Public Health – Dayton & Montgomery County publishes no bed bug complaint count; a Terminix ranking that put Dayton eleventh appears only in news we could not open and we do not cite it.

What is fair to say

Dayton has been on the list each of the last three years, in the 30s and 40s, with four other Ohio metros above it. OSU’s 2025 factsheet titles a section “Bed Bugs on the Rise in the Midwest” and blames “increased human movement and insecticide resistance.” Six Ohio metros on a fifty-city list is a state pattern, not a Dayton one.

What is not

That your home is probably infested, or that you should pay urgency pricing. One infestation has one source.

One source, one treatment

Inspection finds it.
